LUBL

The Latvian University Sports Association (LASS) in cooperation with the University of Latvia Sports Center invites students of Latvian universities and colleges to register for the Latvian University Basketball League (LABL)2025/2026 season.

The aim of LABL is to promote basketball among students, support athletes’ growth, and provide opportunities to combine studies with participating in high-level competitions. During the new season, we will determine the strongest student basketball teams and crown the LABL champions.

Registration deadline for teams: September 28, 2025, at 23:59

Submission of team rosters: October 1, 2025, at 23:59
The team roster form will be sent to team captains after the initial application has been completed.

The regular season will take place from October 7, 2025, to May 6, 2026, and the playoffs will be held in April and May 2026. Games will be played at sports venues in Riga – Skanstes Street 43 and Brīvības Avenue 333.

Participation fee:

• 65 EUR per player for the full season
• 35 EUR per player per semester (if paid in two installments)

For University of Latvia student teams, each participant must purchase a semester sports membership (20 EUR per semester) and send their team’s information to sports@lu.lv. We will take care of the rest – you’ll be able to represent LU and play at a reduced price!

You can apply for the basketball league in 2 ways – create your own team with friends or study mates, or join an existing team. To an existing team, you can apply by filling out the electronic application form.

Each season is not only an opportunity to compete for the title but also to gain new friends, experience, and the unforgettable emotions that come with student sports.
